About Gwent
Within the universe of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, there exists a collectible card game called Gwent. Since then, it has evolved into a stand-alone game known as “Gwent: The Witcher Card Game.” Gwent is essentially a strategy card game in which players construct decks made up of unit cards that depict various factions, characters, and skills from the Witcher universe.
To start, players build a deck of cards from different factions. Every faction possesses distinct advantages, disadvantages, and strategies. Unit cards, special ability cards, and a few cards exclusive to a certain faction are usually found in decks. Every participant selects a hand of cards from their own deck. After each round, you want to be stronger overall on the battlefield than your opponent. The object of the game is to win two of the three rounds that are played. To indicate that they are happy with their current position on the battlefield and do not want to play any more cards in that round, players might pass their turn. The player with the most overall strength on the battlefield wins the round when both players pass consecutively. Players renew their hand by drawing new cards from their deck after every round. The round winner gains a small advantage in card resources as they carry over one card advantage into the following round. A few cards offer unique powers that can change how the game turns out, such as destroying rival units, boosting allies, or drawing additional cards.

- You have 5 options to choose from in terms of leader cards. Each leader card should give you an advantage against certain factions. So, really it’s up to you and your experiments on which leader card suits you the best. There’s definitely some luck involved as well.
- Don’t play tight bond units one after the other or you may fall victim to a Scorch card.
- Play your Spy cards as early as possible.
- Use the divide-and-conquer approach when using Commander’s Horn, so use it on two of close combat, ranged and siege rows. Additionally, you may use Commander’s Horn to offset the damaging effect of Biting Frost.
