Requirements

In today’s guide, we are going to show you how to find a secret developer’s chest in Dead Island Riptide. Additionally, you will get guaranteed respawning orange and legendary weapons from the chest every single time without waiting. However, there are a few requirements that you need to meet to get to that chest:

1. Be at the very end of the game (without getting on the boat) and the final boss needs to be defeated
2. Have access to the boat as a fast travel location
3. Active quest has to be the main storyline where it tells you to get on the boat and end the game
4. Lose access to the boat as a fast travel location

You can lose access to the boat as a fast-travel location by dying in the glitch where the developer’s chest is. You can do so by standing in front of the chest and blowing yourself up with a grenade. When you respawn, you will no longer be able to fast-travel with the boat.

How To Find The Secret Chest

Now, to find the secret chest, follow the instructions below:

1. Head to the Ocean View Bungalows located not too far from the Halai village
2. On the right-hand side, you will see a fence. Hop on to the fence and then hop over it.
3. This will take you inside the dead zone without actually entering the Bungalows.
4. Hop down into the water and then go into the room. You will find the chest there.
