Chronique des Silencieux is a point and click detective adventure developed and published by Pierre Feuille Studio. Set in 1970’s in a bustling town in southern France, you play as Eugene Faury. A young man from the countryside coming to visit his Uncle Flavio. Things take a huge turn when you find your uncle behind bars. As an apprentice detective, you are tasked with solving the case of what has happened in Pays de Galles. This walkthrough will help you navigate Eugene’s journey into become a real private eye.

Part 1

Getting outside

Talk to the man in the dark suit after getting off the train. You ask him for directions to ‘Le Pays de Galles, Meriadeck’ where your Uncle Flavio lives. The man will direct you to go straight down to the bus stop and take Line 8 going to Meriadeck. Once there you’ll go to a big square and go across it diagonally. Look for the road next to the Bar Basque and then go straight to Pays de Galles.

The Pays de Galles

Once you’re out of the station, rain will be pouring hard. Run towards the upper left alley by the street. Go inside the blue door beside the brown store called Le Pay the Galles. Head towards the first room where an older woman named Madame Solange will stop and talk to you. Go upstairs after your conversation for the cutscene to begin.

The Girls

A red-haired girl named Blanche will start to interview you about your business there. After a brief talk, she pushes you inside a classroom and introduces you to a group of girls staying inside. Mr. Victor Dousvalon then enters. followed by Madame Solange from earlier. Another cutscene will advance you to the next stage.

The Inspector in Chronique des Silencieux

Madame Solange brings you to her room which is also her office. You will automatically take out your recorder to reference the conversation. Solange informs you that your Uncle Flavio is away and that you can’t stay in the building. You will take out your notebook tab located at the bottom of the screen and click the image to talk about the person in the image.

Asking Madame Solange

Click on Solange’s image. After she tells you her backstory, click on Blanche’s picture. She will tell you her story next and so goes Mr. Dousvalon. You will then unlock a new picture called Lessons. Click on Pays de Galles first to learn more about the establishment.

The Vice Squad

After she tells you the story of Pays de Galles, a police inspector will enter the room unannounced. named Yves Maleski He tells Madame Solange that there is a new boss and the higher-ups want things to move faster. The Pay de Galles is right in the crosshairs of the Vice Squad.

Inspector Maleski is looking for some information that he can use to keep Pays de Galles from going under. You then learn that Flavio is behind bars and that he might be there for a while. The inspector tells you to meet him at the police station on Rue Casteja.

The Police Station

Go outside and head straight to the bottom street. You enter the square where the flea market is gathered. Talk to the people there where icons are placed. After your talking spree, move towards the bottom street and you will enter the police station’s location. Go inside the station and talk to the officer behind the desk.

Meeting Uncle Flavio in Chronique des Silencieux

The officer on duty will accuse your uncle of being a pimp. Inspector Maleski then shows you the police report stating the apprehension of Flavio Fauri and Herve Claverie. The inspector will then take you to your uncle’s cell. After talking to your uncle, the game will progress the storyline.

Chronique des Silencieux is a game where you play an apprentice detective. Part of your job is talking to people, collecting documents, and finding contradictions with your findings. Open your notebook tab and look at the testimonies you have recorded. You will see the transcript of all your conversations.

You will be given a tutorial on how to find contradictions between documents or conversations. To find out more, talk to your uncle about all the images in your notebook to get more testimonies about them.

Connecting the Truth

After talking to Uncle Flavio, connect the statement ‘Small world huh?’ and the first paragraph of the police report. You will find out that the fight started at the Pays de Galles instead of the market.

The inspector will then enter the scene and give you the information form for Herve. After this, the inspector will teach you how to make a hypothesis. Go to your notebook again and turn to the icon with the quill pen. This will be your Leads section.

To open the initial padlock, Combine One-Armed Herve, the key Threaten, and Madame Solange. You have unlocked your first solution. You will then enter a cutscene talking with the inspector and your uncle behind bars.

Back to Pays de Galles

After that, you will be directed outside to the police station lobby. Talk to the officer in charge and he will tell you about the incident earlier in the morning involving Outraging Public Decency. After the officer is finished, head outside and go to the top right corner of the police station entrance and talk to a couple of officers having a break.

Go back to the Pays de Galles, and talk to the couple outside, Fernand and Germaine. Once settled, head two floors upstairs and into the red-colored door where Madame Solange’s room is.

Interrogating Madame Solange

You talk to Madame Solange about Herve threatening her. The inspector will enter and a cutscene will start. You are now tasked with uncovering more about what had happened so you can use it as leverage to make Madame Solange speak.

Madame Solange won’t Talk in Chronique des Silencieux 

After a short cutscene, the inspector will give you the newspaper. The headline states that Herve was found dead. Go down the hallway to your left and talk to the girls. Go upstairs and talk to the rest of them as well. Move to the last room at the end of the hallway and talk to Blanche inside.

Ask Blanche about the characters in your notebook to get a little more info about them. When you’re done with your interrogation, go to the drawer and pull out the Solid Water Nominative Certificate addressed to Bonnet Veronique.

Go down the stairs and inside your Uncle’s room located on the first floor. Use the recorder to record the music coming from the phonograph. Go to the wall and click on the brown trenchcoat. Direct your hands downward to go deep inside the pocket and grab a key.

The key has the word shop written on it. Talk to the girls outside the hallway then head inside the classroom to interrogate Mr. Dousvalon. Ask him all about the characters pictured in your notebook to gain more knowledge about them. After your talk, move up the room and click on the notes resting on top of a dressing table.

Connecting Madame Solange and Lessons

Connect Madame Solange’s statement regarding ‘My ladies need to be able to…’ and the back of the note that stated ‘Who knows, he looked at me, furious and…’ Talk to Mr. Dousvalon after.

Drugs in Pays de Galles

Go outside the building and use the key for the Le Pays de Galles then enter the building with the pink door. Walk towards the cabinet and search through its panels. Slide the top left panel to the left and you will find a Drug Bag hidden inside it.

The Square Interrogation

Go outside and head toward the square. You will find a bald man sitting under a tree. Talk to him to learn more about Madame Solange’s brother Reynaud. After your conversation, go around the square and talk to people to gather information and testimonies. Use your recorder to get the whistling music from one of them named Edmond.

After collecting testimonies, go to the police station to ask the inspector about Reynaud. Go inside the room in the police station and rummage through the papers on top of a chair. Click on the Paris Flash Magazine to gain more information about the drugs seized by police. Talk to your Uncle Flavio and talk to him about the drugs and Reynaud.

Connection Reynaud

Connect the statement of Uncle Flavio about ‘J’ai reve d’une fleur’ to the testimony of Edmond about hearing the same song. You will have connected that Jojo Mandolina is in fact Madame Solange’s brother Reynaud.

The Kitchen in Pays de Galles

Go back to the Pays de Galles and go down the steps towards the kitchen. Talk to the cook there named Admiral. After talking to him, go to the table by the wall and grab the purple flyer about the Golden Anchor’s Pere Niflard Evening. Talk to the Admiral again.

Connecting the Golden Anchor

Pull out the flyer and connect the words Golden Anchor to Uncle Flavio’s statement regarding The Silver Mermaid, copper brass, etc. You will find out that the Golden Anchor bar serves as the headquarters of Jojo Mandolina.

About Reynaud

Talk to everyone in Pays de Galles about Reynaud and gather all the information about him. Head outside once you finish your interrogation.

Going to the Golden Anchor

Go to the square and head north towards the street going to the Golden Anchor. Talk to the man outside then go inside the bar. Talk to the bartender about Jojo and he will deny meeting someone like that. Play Reynaud’s song from your recorder then talk to the bartender again. After your talk, you will get testimony from the Golden Anchor’s barman.

Unlock another padlock

Connect Jojo’s Drug to Finance and then to Pays de Galles to unlock another padlock for Madame Solange. After that, connect Madame Solange to Liquidate and Pays de Galles to prove that Madame wants to close down the Pays de Galles.

Interrogating Madame Solange in Chronique des Silencieux

This will be a point of no return. When you’re ready, open the door and start investigating Madame Solange. A cutscene will be played depicting young Madame Solange and Reynaud. After talking to her, connect the statements with the clues you have.

  • Connect ‘What proves Blanche is innocent?’ with Blanche’s own statement ‘A nasty addiction…’
  • Connect ‘What proves Uncle Flavio is innocent?’ with Uncle Flavio’s own statement ‘I don’t touch the stuff anymore.’
  • Connect ‘What proves Victor Dousvalon is innocent?’ with Dousvalon’s own statement ‘I feel almost guilty…’
  • Another cutscene will now play about Madame Solange. She will tell you why she did all those things and how he found Reynaud again and he helped her.
  • Connect ‘All that because…’ to Uncle Flavio’s statement regarding ‘Round here, before the war…’
  • Connect ‘Where would they go, my girls…’ to the Stock share from Solid Water.

The answer to who prevents Solange from closing down the Pays de Galles is the Corsican, Reynaud’s partner, was the one pulling the strings backstage.

Aftermath

After a few cutscenes, you are all in the hallway talking. You get to stay in the building and earn a living as a detective. Time passes and everyone moves on with their lives. 5 years go by where finally, you have your own office.
